Featured on Animax, Stanley Lau, to put it simply, rules in digiart land. His portfolio contains artworks commissioned by Capcom (a giant in the gaming industry) and his own character Pepper (his "imaginary friend" and CG practice doodle) continually gains popularity.

Visit his deviantART site (http://artgerm.deviantart.com/) and you'll find yourself in love with his work in no time.

Yeah. I love ArtGerm's work. He's not the best I've seen but it's almost an understatement to say he's really really REALLY good. He hasn't been posting as often as he used to though. He must be busy with commissions that can't be released publicly.

And I love that he experiments a lot with different styles. If there's anything to admire about him, it's his flexibility. (Though the guy must have a pretty bloated head by now since the whole world is drawing Pepper and experimenting with styles, following his footsteps. XD)

I think what's cool about his usual proportions is that he hangs between anime-ish and realistic by using very narrow noses, longer-than-life legs and relatively large heads while showing off some amounts of realistic visual cues like the bones on the hips and elbows, and the curves of the face.

He also controls where to leave out his lineart to give way for shadows, where to make it lighter and where to color it. I guess that's his advantage over the fastfood-style comicbook process where one person overcooks the lineart, leaving little room for creativity on the colorist's part.

A piece of trivia for DotA fans: Stanley Lau is actually the one who drew one of the loading screen artworks for the immensely popular WarCraft III map.
